Orthopedic Surgery & Sports Medicine, Comprehensive Shoulder Surgery, and Advanced Hip and Knee Arthroscopy
Born and raised in Wahiawa, Dr. Chun attended the University of Hawai’i at Manoa on full academic scholarship and graduated with highest honors. He then attended the University of Hawai’i John A. Burns School of Medicine and graduated in 2008 as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society and class president.
Following medical school, Dr. Chun completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Washington and Harborview Medical Center, widely-regarded as one of the nation’s most elite surgery programs.
In 2013, Dr. Chun moved to Los Angeles for a fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopy at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute, where he was trained in minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery to treat disorders of the shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle. Dr. Chun treated multiple professional athletes from the NBA, NFL, NHL, and MLB.
In 2014, Dr. Chun returned to Hawai’i and joined Orthopedic Associates. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor with the University of Hawai’i medical school and has published multiple peer-reviewed journal articles.
Dr. Chun and his wife Lauren have three children, Ezekiel, Eve, and Daniel. Dr. Chun enjoys hunting and fishing with his family.
